Civil activities

AirbusA380 On the basis of long time success experience gained in design, development and manufacturing of training aircraft and complex aerospace systems, for Alenia Aermacchi was logical and natural to focus its interests in the aerostructures and nacelles when the management, since mid ‘90s, decided to increase the business in the civil/commercial area.

Nowadays, Alenia Aermacchi delivers yearly above 900 engine nacelles to its worldwide customers.

Its design and technological capabilities have permitted the company to realize cold parts for engine nacelles: inlets, fan cowl and EBU, the systems-to-engine interface.

Alenia Aermacchi has widen its capabilities to take full responsibility during the life of complex projects: from management to design and production including customer support activities, being very well acquainted and experienced with international collaborations in the most important programs.

In this frame Alenia Aermacchi, through MHD (Macchi-Hurel Dubois, a Joint Venture with the French Company Aircelle) is able to provide Customers with a global offer for complete nacelle systems service, from medium/large aircraft up to regional 100 seats jets.

Alenia Aermacchi also plays an active role in international research activities as one of the main partners of the "SILENCER" programme for the design and development of advanced noise abatement systems.

Civil collaborations

Boeing_787_Dreamliner In the area of engine nacelles and aerostructures, Alenia Aermacchi is collaborating with different Customers/Partners in the most important international programs.
