Alenia Aermacchi has played an important role in the GSE sector since the ‘60s and has produced more the 2000 units for its 20 military customers worldwide in the last thirty years. Tornado, AMX and Typhoon are only some of the military aircraft supported by its GSE. Thanks to its know-how in the aviation sector, Alenia Aermacchi is able to design solutions specifically tailored for each single Armed Force, and combined with the most appropriate support system (Configuration Control, Tech Pubs, Training, Spare Parts, Maintenance, Overhaul, Calibration, etc.).

Range of products

­Alenia Aermacchi has developed and is still developing GSE for the generation of hydraulic power, electrical power, compressed air for aircraft engine starting as well as cooling air for avionic bays to be used during ground functional tests. In each of the above fields, the company has developed products highly appreciated both by military customers and aircraft manufacturers. The most recent equipment has been designed so as to comply with the stringent Eurofighter specifications.

Alenia Aermacchi has always focused its policy on customer requirements and enhancement of customer satisfaction and has designed solutions for the Air Forces, which are deployed and operate in areas unserved. Based on the gained experience, products capable of performing more than one function have been realized and launched in the market (e.g. there is a model applicable to aircraft of the M346 and AMX category that supplies both d.c. and a.c. power and also cooling air for avionic bays during ground functional tests). After an accurate survey worldwide, Alenia Aermacchi is now able to offer h­ighly advanced multifunctional rigs for the specific needs of single Air Forces.

In addition to the above products, Alenia Aermacchi has developed equipment for the following requirements:

  • Illumination of areas unserved (military or civil use)
  • Capability to perform structural repairs of aircraft in areas unserved (field workshops)
  • Jet engine compressor washing
  • Aircraft towing

All above items and all GSE designed and manufactured by Alenia Aermacchi are mounted on wheels and can be carried on board the C27J Spartan or other aircraft of the same category.
