The M-346 Master advanced trainer aircraft took part in the “AirPower 2009” air show held at Zeltweg Air base in Austria.

The display took place on 6 and 7 June, with numerous air assets of the French Ministry of Defence and  its Allies.

The 60-minute flight was made by the two prototypes and LRIP00, representative of the series production configuration.

Alenia Aermacchi recognized the three winners in its “Name the M-346” competition: the committee chosed the name “MASTER”.

The aircraft are part of the ITAF contract covering the overhaul and upgrade of 14 MB-339CD “Batch 1” in use with the Italian Air Force.

M-346, a great name for a great future

The Italian Minister of the Interior and the Minister of Defense flew on the two M-346 advanced jet trainers.

On May 1st Alenia Aermacchi, the training aircraft specialist of the Alenia Aeronautica group, will celebrate its 95th birthday.

Austrian Air Force pilots visited the Alenia Aermacchi factory, making two flights with the M-346 advanced trainer to essay its technical qualities.

The Alenia Aermacchi M-346 advanced trainer will fly daily at the Singapore Air Show.
