Austrian Air Force Pilots Visits the Alenia Aermacchi Factory in Venegono
Austrian Air Force pilots visited yesterday the Alenia Aermacchi factory in Venegono, making two flights with the M-346 advanced trainer to essay its technical and training qualities.
The M-346 was developed based on the strict requirements specified by European air forces for the international Advanced European Jet Pilot Training (AEJPT) programme and currently represents the peak of the range of Alenia Aermacchi training aircraft. The M-346 is a candidate for this programme as the best aircraft – and the only one in Europe – in the new generation advanced trainer category, and it is characterized by the ability to effectively simulate the performance, operational scenarios and cockpits of the latest generation combat aircraft such as the Eurofighter.
The Austrian pilots came away with extremely positive impressions, due to the high training effetiveness and considerable “downloading” potential shown by the programme and the aircraft, which make the M-346 a true generational and conceptual leap in military pilot training.
